It was in February of the 1999 Parade of Homes Show that we first met and approached Clark Spilker about building our custom home in St George.  We moved into that house in December of 2000.  Clark was not only the builder but the designer as well.  With the combination of our ideas and his savvy of putting them together in a way that is both beautiful and functional, we have a custom home that surpassed all of our ideals.  Now, seven years later we still love our custom home and have a lasting relationship with our builder Clark Spilker.

Dear Clark and Janet,

I will try and keep this brief, but it will be hard because there is so much to be said about our experience designing and building the perfect home with you.  How about starting off with a huge Thank You!

Thank you for advising us on picking the most beautiful lot.

Thank you for taking the dream in our heads and turning it into a reality. 

Thank you for your endless hours of time you spent both with us and in your office alone personally tweaking the design of our home before the foundation was even laid.

Thank you for staying within our budget and finishing the "oh so big" job right on schedule.

Thank you for emphazizing the function of our home over some of my "over the top ideas" (I wanted large single pane windows and an open fireplace and you saw the nightmare in heating and cooling it would cause).  

Thank you for the small details in our home that make it such a pleasure to live in.

Most of all, thank you for the friendship that developed during the many hours we spent with both of you during the entire project.  If we did not love our home so much we would design and build another custom home with the Spilker Team, because it was a way fun time in our life!

Clark Spilker designed and built our home in 2002.  We can highly recommend him to be your home designer and builder.  We came with our own ideas and he helped us refine them to get the home we wanted.  Clark listens and works hard to incorporate your ideas into your plan and yet because of his experience he can tell when something will work or not.  Clark was always accessible to us. We never had to wait days to hear back from him.  There was very good communication.  The building came along on schedule.  The subcontractors were very responsive to Clark and it was evident that they knew they needed to preform on schedule and to exacting specifications if they wanted to work with him.  As we have learned from friends and neighbors in the ensuing years that is not always the case.  In some cases the same subs were used with less desirable results.  We now know it was because Clark expects a quality job and will accept no less.  Janet was an invaluable asset.  It was great to have her to bounce ideas off when it came to making interior design choices.  Our house came in under budget because Clark's bids included quality allowances.  Everything we chose was not an upgrade, it was already allowed for in the budget.  We feel Clark probably saved us as much money as it cost to use his services and we know he saved us a lot of headaches.  When the job is done Clark and Janet are still there if any problems come up.  They have been wonderful to work with.

Clark Spilker is not just a design/builder, he is an artist. The first time we sat down with him we knew we had made the right choice. Anything we were able to imagine he made a reality. His wife Janet knows how and where to get the best of everything. We love our "Work of Art" built by Clark.
